From Elisabeth Hasselbeck to Victoria Beckham to Zooey Deschanel, going gluten free has become not only a smart choice for their sex appeal, but a healthy choice for their bodies and families as well. When our co-founder Heidi Brod told me she had gone gluten free, it took me two seconds to reevaluate my pantry (have you seen her pictures in The Huffington Post?!)

Not just for people diagnosed with celiac disease, going gluten free has multiple health benefits for those of us who ask for a second helping of bread with dinner (I’m gluten guilty). Cutting gluten will also help to clear skin, and it will contribute to weight loss because of the healthier and hopefully fresher foods you will be eating. Since we don’t fully digest wheat which can cause gas in our body already inflamed by the wheat being converted into sugar, those long anticipated nights can easily be cut short by some not so favorable flatulence.
While its hard to completely change overnight, doB has named some of our favorite products to get you started. Impressing that Italian stallion is easy with Le Venezianne Pasta. With spaghetti, penne, farfalle or eliche on the table, you’ll keep his belly full while keeping your weights stable. Applegate’s Chicken Nuggets will please your fussy tots while Bell & Evan’s Chicken Tenders will fill the appetite of an adult who’s really a kid at heart. For the serious snacker, Glutino’s Chocolate Covered Pretzels or Bagel Chips are two sure lip smackers. Heidi’s Gluten Free Sandwich Bread is delicious as toast or as a bed for the perfect turkey roast. Finally, if you know me, you know I admit to eating gummies in bed (much to my dentist’s dismay), so finding Surf Sweets’ Gummy Bears was as exciting to me as a true surfer catching a big wave.
If you are in New York City, check out G-Free NYC on the Upper West Side. With all of these products and more, you can take your time and browse or order online and have it delivered directly to your house. Stop in for “Sample Sunday” and stay to find your favorite products to start purging that pantry.
Cut the tootin’, get rid of gluten.
