Thakoon for NARS

Like a virgin.  Collaborated for the very first time!

François Nars has never collaborated with a fashion designer.  Until now.  Introducing Thakoon for NARS, a limited edition nail polish collection inspired by Thakoon Panichgul’s Spring 2012 runway.

Rarely has a designer, or any brand for that matter, created a nail polish collection that made me want every single color.

The Thakoon for NARS polishes are shockingly vibrant – an exuberant embodiment of all the trendy colors this season.  But, Thakoon was motivated by a more traditional epiphany.  He envisioned a rainbow of potential couture from the colors at the Indian spice market, which resulted in the following six colors for the nail polish collection: Anardana (azalea pink), Ratin Jot (orchid purple), Amchoor (bright yellow), Kutki (powder blue), Koliary (cyan blue), and Lal Mirchi (mandarin red).  For a glimpse of how these shades look in real life, check out this post at Scrangie.

My personal favorite is Lal Mirchi, which I think is more tangerine than mandarin, in honor of Pantone’s color of the year.  Overall, I love how it looks like Thakoon just dripped the colors from jeweled sari prints on the runway directly into the bottles.

From the runway to your fingertips, the Thakoon for NARS polishes are available now at NARS and Sephora.
