Run, Don’t Walk
I’ll admit it, I dream about shoes. I save up for them, covet them and lust for them. I can remember the shoes I wore on my first date with my boyfriend as well as I can remember our fabulous date.
But, being a New Yorker, I have limited closet space and an even more limited budget, so when I go out to buy shoes I’m always hoping to narrow down my search to the best picks of the season.
This Spring/Summer there a lot of styles to choose from. What’s trending are braided sandals, flower appliques, mega platforms, transparent shoes, studded/rivet shoes, metallic toe shoes, pointed toe shoes, shoes with lacing, espadrilles, pastel colored and bright colored shoes and lots of shoes with buckles.
If money grew on trees, we’d pick and buy the Isla Leaf Espadrille Platform Sandal by Charlotte Olympia. But since it doesn’t, we save for the tree inspired Leaf-Covered Asymmetric Sandal by B Brian Atwood (an ethereal splurge).
For some Metallic flats under $75 we like the Bethanyy by Steve Madden or the Driver-Met by Michael Antonio. For under $150, the Bagley flat by Dolce Vita is the right choice. An amazing metallic heel that won’t come cheap, but is worth breaking the bank (or robbing one!), we worship the high heel Lenoire Metallic Fringe Sandal by B Brian Atwood.
If its espadrilles you’re after (with edgy studs to boot) check out Studded Leather Espadrille Wedge Sandal by Alexander McQueen for inspiration. Save those bucks by purchasing the Palm Beach Espadrille by Michael Kors for under $125 dollars.
We admit that good shoes don’t come cheap, but with a good shoemaker these shoes can last for years. The memories you’ll make wearing them just might last a lifetime.
Now shoo, fly. Go and get these soles.
