On November 19, 2011, be prepared for BOLD. When we think of what Donatella has done for Versace, we see her vision in a fanfare of loud graphics and audacious colors. Viva Italia in a flash. Now her vision descends on H&M, the Swedish giant responsible for bringing the idea of cheap chic collaborations into the fashion world.
Like Missoni for Target, Versace’s collection encompasses housewares as well as budget prêt-a-porter for both men and women. Bright pink oozed out of a highlighter onto a men’s smart blazer and women’s stiletto cut out sandals. Palm trees waving in the breeze and zebra stripes running amuck. For the tame minded, do not fret, for Donatella has incorporated shiny silver and glittery black into the collection.
Preview the Versace for H&M collection through Vogue UK’s gallery. Bookmark your favorites, the pieces are available online as well as in-store. I am personally lusting after that pink silk frock with elaborate gold studding worn in the photo by the enticing Lindsey Wixson. Perfectly me, perfectly Versace.
