Smoke and Mirrors – The Smokey Metallic Eye

smokey metallic eyeThere is no smoke without a fire, so light that spark ladies!

We all have an inner goddess, but it takes more than the required eight to compete with Aphrodite.  For that ethereal decadence, I turned to the Chanel Fall Runway Show for more than just inspiration.

Chanel’s Global Creative Director, Peter Philips, created a soft metallic smokey eye that was made edgier with a bold black liner.  The shadows were delicately applied from the lash line up to the brows.  To keep focus on these celestial lids, Philips kept the face nude and lips matte.  A loose side knot in the hair adorned with jeweled accessories was the final touch to keep this look immortal.

Not all that glitters is gold.

I wanted to make my Friday night a little more enchanting, so I used Aphrodite’s wisdom to pick the best products to share with my doB divas.  A textural favorite, Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows, made putting on the mousse-like product feel as sexy as I looked afterwards, especially with six shades to choose. Try Epatant and Illusoire to get the Chanel runway look.

For an easier application, Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sapphire or Khaki are the undeniable choices.  The stick kept my fingers clean and my lids luminous. Both products can be simply spread with the help of a cream eyeshadow brush or as a liner.

Not all goddesses have an unlimited budget and Maybelline Eye Studio Color Gleam Cream Eyeshadow gives three blendable shadows so you can create that perfect smokey eye without any messy creases.

Don’t wait for that smoke to clear.  Channel your inner goddess today.
